Normally when. Open a candle U get the smell straight away even before lighting but myself and my 3 kids couldn't really smell anything. And upon lighting it didn't have much if any scent at all it was maybe close to like a soap smell , this is the sweet honeysuckle candle . Definately would recommend getting a stronger scented candle like with basisi on Berry's or melons. As even in an enclosed room on second or third lighting still no real nice smell just maybe a tad like soap. Also the ring was missing a stone and am hopeing for a replacement and the ring wasn't anything like the designs picture in any of the photos it was a very boring plain 2 colour stone ring. The customer service seems great and I'm hopeing toorder again and get a better scented candle as I can see definately how it could be worth it as it was exciting but just not a good scent for us.
